To round off this month some miscellaneous observations. 
Crime is much lower in Switzerland than in the UK. For example I have been told in 1995 there was no car crime reported anywhere in Switzerland. This leads to things happening in Switzerland that I haven't seen happen in the UK for years. The local Supermarket is currently running a special on Bags of compost. To aid their customers the bags are stacked out front during the day so they can easily be loaded into cars. They also stand out on the pavements all night..........without being stolen, likewise their current plants on offer.
Switzerland is famous for it's stable currency along with it's banking, and yet Switzerland is a cash economy. I recently saw someone in a computer shop by a brand new system with cash. Several thousand Francs in cash, Sfr 1,000 notes; each worth about £400. In deed even the smart debit cards issued by the banks are little used despite the facilities being everywhere. It takes a little getting used to after the credit card society of the UK.
Although it now seems to be changing here, one of the Kantonal banks is pushing it's new credit cards in the region.
